CAFE PANACHE ••• CHIC STYLE IN OUD WEST
A few months ago we made our way to have cocktails at a little pop up bar, Mercato Campari.
After we tossed back a few drinks, the friendly bartender gave us a quick sneak peek at the huge space in back. It was cold and dark and under construction but we could see that this was a diamond in the rough, and we eagerly awaited news on what would become of the space. And about three months later Cafe Panache opened their doors.
Cafe Panache is a chic restaurant in an old market storage space. The ambiance is dark and romantic with lots of flickering candles and cozy seating areas. Spot lighting, lots of green plants, and good use of wood, tiles and metal bring the restaurant to life.
The menu has a French/international feeling with lots of seafood dishes which we love. Choose the three course menu or go a la carte. We decided to share small plates and bites and enjoyed each dish. Ceviche, mussels and razor clams were delicious and we really enjoyed the bread and butter that were placed on our table at the start of the meal. Sometimes it is the little simple things…
The cocktail menu is fun with pitchers to share. Or get one just for yourself if you are crazy like that! Of course they also have single serving cocktails if your companions don’t want to share. We enjoyed the Dark n Stormy and the Hugo’s with St Germain.
The adjacent bar that previously housed popup Mercato Campari is also a great place to visit. Stop in for a quick drink before dining at the restaurant or just go for a night out with friends. The space is cozy and small but the drinks are fierce. Try the porn star martini or stay on the safe side with a regular beer.
