[CLOSED]Meat West is in a beautiful industrial space at De Hallen, the renovated tram structures in Amsterdam West. Come try their new spring menu, it may surprise you!
MEAT WEST IS NOW CLOSED – the Kanarie Club has taken the space.
The name Meat West might conjure ideas of a giant steak topped with bacon and served with a side of ribs. Although Meat West does serve a meaty menu, their special spring menu has a focus on seasonal produce as well as meats.
We visited Meat West for dinner on a recent stormy spring evening. The meal began with a glass of bubbly and some fresh bread and butter, which was soon followed by an amuse of smokey spek. I think it was our favorite bite of the meal – delicious! But what followed was also tasty and very inventive, with seasonal vegetables and fruits. The dessert included raspberry ice cream with fresh fennel for an interesting flavor combination.
In addition to their special menus, you can also go a la carte. Meat West has burgers, steaks and even the option of fish dishes. I like the idea of their “cinema dinner” a nice two-course meal before or after a visit to De Filmhallen nearby.
Meat West is in a large space in De Hallen, making it a great choice for large groups. The cool stylish ambiance would also suit a business dinner.
