Here are five terrific restaurants just a few minutes from the central train station, plus a bonus rooftop lounge. These are the perfect places to meet someone who is traveling by train or to have something to eat before or after you go to Amsterdam Centraal.

Across the street from the station, 5&33 is a spacious restaurant and lounge serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Go for a full meal, or snack on small plates over drinks. If you don’t mind walking just a few extra minutes, head to Nevel on the side of the IJ. You can dine on the terrace or near the big windows and watch the ships pass on the water.
