AWESOME AMSTERDAM

AMSTERDAM BARS FOR LARGE GROUPS

BARS & CAFES, BEST OF

Would you like to grab a drink with a group of 10 or more of your friends? Here are a few of our favorite spots that have plenty of space AND plenty of beer.

AMSTERDAM BARS FOR LARGE GROUPS

Hannekes Boom

Just a few steps from Central Station is a fun and relaxed place where you can sit on the water and have some drinks. Hannekes Boom is a historic guard post used to protect the city of Amsterdam from visiting ships in the 1600s. Now it’s a great place to hang out and have a snack or a drink.

There’s no table service outside but grab a picnic table and kick back with your friends while sending one or two from your group inside to order drinks. Hannekes Boom has food too, we recommend the bar snacks like bitterballen.

Pacific Parc

With a huge terrace and massive indoor space, Pacific Parc is a great place to party. Grab your friends and secure a space outside on a sunny afternoon, or head there in the evening for their eclectic music and relaxed vibe. Pacific Parc also serves food if you forgot to have dinner, but they clear away the tables around 10pm so don’t wait too long.

For drinks you can also check out the nearby Westergasterras in Westerpark.

Bierfabriek

Want to tap your own beer from the center of your table and throw peanut shells on the floor? Head to the Bierfabriek for a unique experience. Call ahead if your group wants to reserve the tables with the taps. Bierfabriek also serves hearty food like rotisserie chicken. Yum!

Edel

With one of the biggest terraces on the westside, you can relax with a big group of your buddies at Edel. Watch the boats pass by on the wide canal and feel the stress of the week wash away. Dinner is also possible here, but if you are visiting with a group you might want to book a table in advance.

De Ysbreeker

Nothing is better on a sunny day than sitting on the wide terrace of De Ysbreeker on the Amstel and soaking up the rays. The late afternoon sun hits this side of the river, providing a perfect place to have drinks in the summertime. The interior of the restaurant is lovely too. De Ysbreeker gets busy outside on a sunny day, so don’t expect a table outside with a large group unless you arrive very early to secure your spot in the sunshine.

Pllek

Hop on the free NDSM ferry for the short ride to Amsterdam Noord and grab your spot on the city beach at Pllek. This restaurant and bar built of used shipping containers has a relaxed beach ambiance and an amazing view of Amsterdam. On a sunny day, kickback at the picnic tables or on beach chairs in the gravel with a beer in hand and watch the ships go by on the IJ. When the weather is not so nice, warm up indoors on the comfy sofas upstairs or down. Pllek serves drinks as well as lunch, dinner and snacks.

For an even more mellow ambiance, take a walk over to Cafe Noorderlicht nearby.
