Amsterdam puts on a lovely display of holiday lights and decorations in houses, shops, streets and squares all over the city. Take a stroll around town to see these twinkling and festive decorations!

AMSTERDAM HOLIDAY DECORATIONS

SPARKLY STREET LIGHTS, WREATHS, TREES, BOWS & BRANCHES

One of my favorite things to do on a winter evening is stroll around the city looking at the festive holiday lights. Some of the streets and shopping areas are festooned with decorations that span the road. I love seeing the same decor year after year, and sometimes it changes which is fun too.

Take a look at a few scenes from this year and the past years too.

People also decorate their homes. Maybe a few simple lights, a tree in the window or a wreath on the door. I love checking it all out.

Shops, restaurants, museums and hotels also decorate their front windows and lobbies. Step in and see what you might find.

Of course the city also puts on an amazing display of art for the Amsterdam Light Festival. Take a canal boat to see the show or walk the land route at the Marineterrein. For more info on the festival, click here.
