A cozy spot for delicious small bites and sandwiches to share. Brunch, lunch, borrel or dinner!
Amsterdam has no lack of places to get a delicious sandwich. But Bar Boca’s has taken this one step further with smaller gourmet sandwiches and other delicious bites that allow diners to share and sample.
During the day the menu is focused on sandwiches. Grab a paper menu and check off those sandwiches you desire. Depending on your appetite, two or three per person should suffice. The problem is…deciding which ones to order! There are a variety of creative sandwiches organized into groups by type: sweet, cheese, veggie, fish, and meat.
We’ve tried the lamb meatballs with yogurt, the goat cheese with bacon and dates, the tallegio with grilled peppers, the salmon with passionfruit dressing, the wild meat, and the blue cheese with rucola. All fantastic! The brown or white bread is crunchy yet soft, for the perfect bite that doesn’t cut the roof of your mouth but still has a satisfying chew.
For borrel and dinner, the menu changes. Some of the delicious sandwiches are still available, but there are also a variety of other bites, salads and platters to share. Be sure to try the fries! Yum! Go with a group of two or more and share a meat, fish, vegetarian, cheese or mixed platter. Even the smallest size will easily feed 2-4 people for a pre-dinner borrel snack depending on your appetite.
Service is very friendly. The owners will help you select a wine by the glass or bottle to accompany your choices.
If you crave a sweet treat, go for their Eaton Mess for dessert!
Bar Boca’s is the perfect place to meet with friends for a leisurely meal and a chat. There are now two locations: one in the Jordaan on the charming Westerstraat and the other across from Sarphatipark in De Pijp. Come in any time of day: brunch, lunch, borrel or dinner.
Note: dinner reservations are highly recommended at this popular spot!
