BAR HUF

Looking for a cozy place for a tasty and filling meal near Rembrandtplein? Check out Bar Huf!

BAR HUF • BURGERS, PHILLY CHEESESTEAK & TASTY LATE NIGHT EATS

Bar Huf is a rustic chic cafe serving American style favorites like Philly cheese steak and burgers as well as soups, risotto and pasta. Best of all, Bar Huf serves food later into the evening than other restaurants around town. Dinner is available until 23:00, and snacks and meals “to-go” until midnight. The to-go menu is slightly different than the regular menu but still includes the tasty burger and Philly cheese steak sandwiches.

Huf aims to use high quality ingredients like Brandt en Levie sausages and wines from Chabrol on Haarlemmerstraat. We sampled (quite a bit) of their house red and it was super tasty! We also tried the burger and the Philly cheese steak. We are no cheese steak experts so we can’t vouch for the authenticity but the meat was SUPER tender and the addition of pickled jalapenos was awesome. The burger was also very tasty and definitely deserves a mention on our list of the best burgers of Amsterdam.

The decor in Huf is cozy and rustic, with exposed brick walls, wood beams and bright red and white checkered tablecloths in diner style. The small space also lends a charming feeling to the restaurant but means that it fills up very quickly. Try to secure a reservation or pop in on a weeknight. The staff is really friendly and will do their best to secure you a seat.

Bar Huf is another winner from horeca entrepreneur Casper Reinders. Have you been to his other restaurants and bars yet? We love the decor and the cocktails at Lion Noir across the street. Also check out Ludwig, Rose’s Cantina and Bar Paul on the same street and Nacional, Jimmy Woo, Chicago Social Club, Bo Cinq, Chow and Libertine around town.
