BEST COFFEE IN AMSTERDAM WEST
For the purpose of this list we are defining West as including Oud West, Baarsjes, Westerpark and Bos en Lommer.
Step into Trakteren on the JP Heijestraat and you’ll be greeted with a smile by the two friendly owners. They have a lot of coffee knowledge and passion and are excited to share it with their customers. This coffeehouse attracts a lot of great buzz for their tasty beverages and amazing latte art.

White Label Coffee
This new coffee bar opened a year ago on the Jan Evertsenstraat and is getting rave reviews all around. Coffee lovers can enjoy a powerful cappuccino that is sure to keep you energized for at least several hours if not all day long. In addition to coffee drinks, cake and pastries, you can also buy coffee beans, coffee accessories and even their cool “W” cups. This is a favorite coffee spot for residents of Amsterdam West and further afield as well. Bring your laptop and take advantage of the WIFI with the other freelancers.

Espressofabriek is one of the pioneers of specialty coffee in Amsterdam. They were one of the first companies to roast their own beans in-house. The coffee is fantastic, and their Westergasfabriek space is beautiful. Indoors there are super high ceilings and you can enjoy the lovely Westerpark ambiance sitting outside when the weather is good.
Pazzanistraat 39, Westerpark
Berry is a cute coffee shop on a perfect canalside corner in Oud West. Owner Tiemen and his staff make excellent coffee drinks and sweets but my favorites are the energizing fresh juices. On a sunny day grab a seat on the terrace outside along the Bilderdijkkade. There’s no WIFI here, so bring a book or a friend.
Bilderdijkkade 27, Amsterdam
A great place to meet up over a nice coffee or bring your laptop and get some work done, Koffie Academie has a super friendly owner. They roast their own beans in house so you might be surrounded by the smell of toasting beans. Feeling hungry? Go for a sandwich or pastry!
Overtoom 95, Amsterdam
The Coffee Room is an excellent spot for a meeting or to get a bit of work done behind your laptop. Free WIFI and a good selection of eats and sweets will keep you fueled for several hours. They also have a nice terrace in the sun!
Kinkerstraat 110, Amsterdam
Stach is a terrific deli concept where you can get fresh tasty foods for take away or to eat at the few tables in the shop. In need of a quick coffee in West? Drop into the shop on the Admiraal de Ruijterweg for a cappuccino on the go!
Admiraal de Ruijterweg 77, Amsterdam
Cozy, friendly Monks is a great place to come for a tasty coffee, some good food and a chat with your friends. The owners are super nice and always greet you with a smile.
Bilderdijkstraat 46, Amsterdam
Cafe Belcampo at OBA in de Hallen
Have little kids? This is the coffee spot in West for you! A mommy and daddy caffeine pit stop, Belcampo cafe at OBA in de Hallen has toys for tots too. If you’re not a parent and are looking for some peace and quiet, head upstairs or to the other side of the space and take advantage of the free WIFI to get some work done. Hungry? They have food here but we’d recommend hopping over to De Foodhallen across the way.
