Passers by are attracted by the humorous sayings on their outdoor chalkboard like “the first 5 days after the weekend are the hardest” and “how much does a hipster weigh? an Instagram”. Once inside you’ll find friendly staff happy to serve you food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere.
The ambiance at Cafe Scrapyard reminds me of a man cave in a good way. Graffiti art on the tables, loud music, worn leather sofas.
Staying with the humor theme, the menu items had fun names like Bacon Threesome, Voodoo Chicken Salad, and my favorite the Pig Pimpin’ Fries. Yes, I had to order these fries just because of the name. (cue awesome Jay-Z song)
This is perfect hangover food, Scrapyard has hearty meals with and without bacon, and reasonable prices. On the lighter side try their egg muffins or salads and go for gold with the three bacon wrap or the loaded fries. The Bad Motha Clucka fries have a tasty spicy sauce and the Pig Pimpin’ come topped with bacon and baconnaise! Whoa.
The menu changes often so check their Facebook page for the latest specials or just go and be surprised!
Scrapyard also hosts popups so be sure to follow them to find out what’s going on now.
Don’t miss the amazing cocktails at Cafe Scrapyard. All of them have fun creative names and fresh ingredients and some of them are even on fire. They also stock local craft beers from Oedipus, Two Chefs Brewing and Brouwerij de Prael.
