Looking for a cozy place to enjoy a boozy brunch in Amsterdam? Look no further than Gs Really Nice Place! Now in the Jordaan and de Pijp as well as on a boat!

GS REALLY NICE PLACE • Boozy brunch in Amsterdam

A few years ago it was not so easy to find a perfect place for brunch in Amsterdam. Sure you could go to a local bakery, head toward the center for a touristy English breakfast or go to some of the few yummy breakfast places around town. But no one was really doing a traditional brunch complete with mimosas, bellinis and bloody marys.

Thankfully George quit his day job in finance and founded Gs in the Jordaan! The result is delicious dishes like eggs benedict and french toast, served along with classic brunch beverages and creative cocktail concoctions. The brunch empire keeps expanding and now includes locations in the Jordaan, Oost and on a boat!

Gs West

This former bruincafe nestled in the Jordaan has been spruced up with bright paint on the walls and funky furnishings. The original bar is fully stocked with what appear to be antique apothecary bottles and vintage bar supplies. Local artists display their paintings and photography on the walls, giving the small space a cool speakeasy vibe.

We sampled the banana french toast (delish!) as well as the famous eggs benedict and a few other dishes. Everything was fresh and tasty and the eggs were perfectly poached. We washed down our breakfast with a few yummy classic cocktails: a bellini, mimosa and bloody mary. An awesome way to start a lazy Sunday!

G’s is a perfect place for a intimate birthday brunch or a treat for out of town guests. Come early and enjoy a morning pick me up before shopping on the Negen Straatjes or visit later in the afternoon and relax over handmade cocktails like an amaretto sour, mojito or bloody mary.

Brunch at the Jordaan location is served Thursday through Sunday. The cafe is small, so make a reservation by emailing [email protected] or get there early to secure a spot. G’s will do their best to find you a cozy seat.

Gs Bar in De Pijp

Goudsebloemstraat was so packed and popular that George and his team decided to venture east and open Gs in Oost. Sadly, that location is now closed but thankfully they have another location in De Pijp too.

Gs Bar is located on the busy Ferdinand Bolstraat in a former neighborhood bar. Lots of big windows means it’s light and bright but still cozy inside.

Go for a morning bloody mary or have a relaxed afternoon making your way through the cocktail menu. The brunch menu has their famous eggs benedict as well as a few riffs on the familiar and some special seasonal salads. We tried the burger and finished off with a slice of chocolate chip banana bread. A decadent way to fuel up for the afternoon.

This second location is open Thursday through Sunday so you can get your brunch on even more often! We highly recommend it for brunch, lunch and afternoon cocktail delights.

Gs Brunch on a Boat

In addition to their delicious brunch in the cafe, G’s hosts brunch on a boat every weekend both Saturday and Sunday! Soak up the sun in the summertime or cuddle under cozy blankets in the winter. Check their website to make a reservation.

The pick up and drop off location is conveniently located in the city center across from the Homomonument on Keizersgracht.

This winter during the Amsterdam Light Festival G’s will also host a special night time boat to see the show from Nov 30th until Jan 21st. Be sure to reserve this evening cruise in advance as space is limited. You can do so on their website.
