There’s something for everyone at Pop Up Shop Jan Eef. Grab a coffee or a bite to eat, shop for vintage items for your home, socks for your man, and jewelry for yourself!
If you visit Jan Eef on a busy Saturday, you’ll see lots of people shopping, snacking, drinking coffee and chatting. And this is just what the Ik Geef Om Jan Eef organization envisioned for the Jan Evertsenstraat when they started organizing markets and pop up shops in the area about four years ago.
It all began in 2010 when jeweler Fred Hund was killed in a robbery on Jan Evertsenstraat. The family joined with community organizers to bring more life to the area and make this neighborhood in De Baarsjes a center for great shops and cafes. Jan Eef is also the organizer of the popular MercatorMarkt, which takes place around the corner at Mercatorplein every few months.
The Jan Eef Pop Up Shop has something for everyone. There is a coffee bar with cakes and treats and lots of great, unique shopping. We spotted vintage furnishings, artwork by local illustrators, handmade jewelry, eco-cotton shirts, and much more! The stock is always changing as the “shops” come and go. Drop in and check it out!
Jan Eef is now closed, check out their new shop: Gekaapt
