The Kimpton De Witt hotel seamlessly combines a modern building with a historic house from the 17th century to create a comfortable and luxurious hotel in the heart of the city center.
Conveniently located just steps from Amsterdam Centraal and offering easy access to Amsterdam’s many sights, the Kimpton De Witt also has a beautiful bar and restaurant for locals as well as guests.
Kimpton De Witt Hotel Amsterdam
The hotel has 274 guest rooms, including 9 suites. Part of the hotel is the Little House, a building from the 1640s that was once the home of Dutch playwright P.C. Hooft. (you may know the fancy shopping street P.C. Hooftstraat in Oud Zuid)
Enter the hotel through the front doors after passing the beautiful green wall covered with plants and a fun Instagram-able neon sign that reads “and breathe”.
The hotel offers rooms in a range of sizes from double to suite and even a penthouse with a fireplace and rooftop terrace. Rooms are beautifully furnished with clever touches everywhere – I especially liked the whimsical animal door knockers on the guest room doors. I love the bright color palette with splashes of blue.
Guests have the use of complimentary VanMoof bikes, a nice added touch.
The hotel also has a bar and two restaurants.
Wyers Bar & Restaurant
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Wyers, has a warm modern atmosphere with an open kitchen at the center. The menu is inspired by Dutch products and American comfort foods, courtesy of Executive Chef and native New Yorker, Sam DeMarco (a.k.a SammyD). The food is perfectly prepared but not fussy, and service is friendly.
Miss Louisa Coffee & Beignets
Stop by the walk-up window and grab a coffee and treat from Miss Louisa Coffee & Beignets. Perfect when you are rushing out to seize the day in the city.
The House Bar has been beautifully renovated and features creative cocktails in the most historic and original part of the property. Be sure to check out the gorgeous stained glass windows.
