Macarons. Is there anything more delicious? Little cookies as light as air with a creamy filling sandwiched in between. Hop over to Poptasi in de Pijp for some of the tastiest sweet treats in the city.
Poptasi makes macarons in creative flavors like Chilli Chocolate, Salty Caramel, Black Sesame and Green Tea as well as original Dutch delights like Stroopwafel and Spekkoek. We were lucky enough to sample quite a few flavors and they were all amazing. We especially enjoyed the Salty Caramel, Walnut Cherry and the Mango.
The inside of the store is beautifully decorated like a jewelry box with gorgeous wallpaper and a glittery chandelier. The colorful macarons are artfully arranged inside the glass vitrine case. Behind the counter chefs are busily whipping up the latest creations.
Select your favorite flavors in a box of eight, 12 or 25 macarons, or maybe just get one or two to eat right now? Poptasi has recently opened their webshop so now you can get the macarons delivered directly to your doorstep! Poptasi macarons make a terrific gift, the packaging with the cartoon skull is both cute and chic.
To top off all the awesomeness that is Poptasi, the owners Patrick van Drie and Sascha Twigt are some of the nicest people in the world! The staff always greets you with friendly smiles and they are open to special requests for weddings and parties.
Poptasi macarons are indeed Dangerously Delicious just like the sign says! And don’t forget they are also gluten free!
