A totally unique experience: take a boat to a private island, enjoy a 4-course meal in a temporary structure with a view over the water and a tiny lighthouse, then boat back to the city.
Sounds great right? Seize this opportunity while you can because it only happens for a few months each summer and tickets sell out fast.
Start the adventure off with a boat leaving from the Lloyd Hotel near the center of Amsterdam. After about an hour you’ll arrive on a beautiful private island in the Markermeer. The original lighthouse on the island was built three centuries ago and is the only lighthouse in Amsterdam. The island is set up as a nature preserve and there are plans to restore the fort there so that visitors can experience it.
The meal itself takes place over a few hours. Fish, meats and seasonal vegetables are procured from local suppliers, hunters and fishermen and prepared with care. Wines are chosen to pair with the food. The ticket price includes food but not drinks.
The experience is more like a short holiday than a normal dinner out on the town. Soak up the quiet of the natural surroundings and have a good conversation with your dining companions.
On Sundays there is a family lunch where children can join in the fun, the rest of the meals are adult only.
Get your tickets today, dinners at Vuurtoreneiland are fully booked every summer. Tickets for July go on sale starting May 1st, June 1 for August and July 1st for September dinners.
